Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama on Monday said that the Tibetans are the most successful refugee community as all of them had shouldered their responsibility sincerely.

Addressing a group of 15 Tibetan volunteers at the Central Tibetan Administration, Dalai Lama said historically the Nalanda University was the education hub of erudite scholars and today, the complete explanation of that tradition can be found only in the Tibetan language.

“We have an incredibly rich literature in human psychology and logic. In that regard, we Tibetans deserve to take pride in ourselves,” he said. He commented that Tibetans are a truly remarkable people with incredible intelligence.

“As long as the exile Tibetan Administration is running efficiently, we will be able to preserve our rich culture and traditional knowledge. Otherwise, it will be difficult,” he said.

He said he hadn’t received modern education and he had started learning English in 1947 and still his English is fairly good.

“Mainly, what we should learn is our knowledge of the science of mind and physical science,” he said, adding he proudly say that when I discuss with scientists and experts, I manage to make quite a good impression. He applauded the efforts of volunteers for serving voluntarily and said this represents their love and loyalty for Tibet.

Tibet Corps is a volunteer programme that offers Tibetan professionals, university students and retirees an opportunity and platform to serve the Tibetan community.
