State Bharatiya Janata Party chief Satpal Singh Satti on Tuesday said Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur government is working for development of Himachal and not pursuing vendetta politics as was the case in the past.
Talking to media, Satti said BJP government has been successful in providing honest and good governance to the people of the state.
“In the two years rule, the state government has launched various schemes for the welfare of masses and has become first state in the country to provide LPG gas connection to all.
The initiative would result in the state becoming smoke free,” he added.
He said the state government would present its report card on two years governance on 27 December at a mega function to be organized on the historic Ridge in which Union Home Minister Amit Shah, national working president of BJP JP Nadda and Union minister of state for Corporate Affairs Anurag Thakur among others.
He lashed at Congress and leader of opposition Mukesh Agnihotri for ciriticising the government for the sake of it and said previous regime failed to ensure honest and transparent governance to the people of the state.
“Congress party destroyed all norms and governance systems and wasted all energies in settling scores with political rivals during their five years rule.
While the present BJP government didn’t pursue any political vendetta and is working to ensure all round development of the state,” he added.
He advised Agnihotri and other opposition leaders to have patience as BJP would win 2022 assembly elections too and they would have to remain in opposition for long period of time.
Replying to a query on Jharkhand poll debacle, he said the party can’t win all elections and BJP was not like Napoleon who would create anarchy to win every election.
“It’s a democracy wherein sometime you win and sometimes lose but despite the fact, BJP have got high vote share in Jharkhand,” he said.
State BJP chief accused opposition leaders of misguiding public on the issue of Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) despite knowing all facts and said the Act would only provide citizenship to those who were victimized on religious grounds.
“India have lost chance to expose Pakistan over atrocities on minorities because of the opposition parties stir. Pakistan is an anti-minority state and no one ever spoke about the torture on minorities there and in other neighbouring countries,” he added.
He even lashed at Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi for meeting injured in anti-CAA protests and said they never met the over 5 lakh Kashmiri pundits who were affected by terrorism in Kashmir.
