Punjab VB nabs industry Inspector red-handed

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) on Tuesday nabbed an industry Inspector of Barnala red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 4,000.
While disclosing this, an official spokesperson of the VB said industry Inspector Mohinder Singh was nabbed red-handed on the complaint of Darshan Dass of Tapa Mandi, Barnala district.

The complainant has approached the VB and informed that the accused Inspector was demanding Rs 4,000 to get approval for the subsidy on a loan for a photo state machine from higher authorities, added the spokesperson.

After verifying this information, the VB team laid a trap and the accused Inspector was arrested on the spot while accepting a bribe of Rs 4,000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses, added the spokesperson.

It was added that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused at VB police station in Patiala and further investigation was in progress.
