Punjab police arrest a JK cop for drug smuggling


Breaking a supply chain of drug smuggling in Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), the Punjab police on Thursday arrested a Jammu and Kashmir police personnel allegedly involved in drug trafficking in both the states.

The Ludhiana police have arrested Mohammed Rafiq who is police personnel at Badgam district in Jammu and Kashmir, with 35 kilogram (Kg) poppy husk.

Ludhiana (Rural) Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Surjeet Singh told The Statesman that poppy husk was recovered from another accused Amninder Singh, a resident of Amargarh Kaler village in Ludhiana from a private car having a special kind of boot built in it to put poppy husk.
