The budget session of the Punjab assembly will be held from March 20-28, the state cabinet decided on Wednesday.
“The Punjab Cabinet has decided to summon the budget session of the Vidhan Sabha from March 20 to March 28, with the budget for 2018-19 likely to be presented in the House on March 24,” a state government spokesperson said after the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Amarinder Singh.
The budget session will commence with the Governor Address on March 20.
The spokesperson further said that there would be no session on March 23 on account of Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s Martyrdom Day.
The reports of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India for the year 2016-17 (civil, commercial), financial accounts of Government of Punjab for the year 2016-17 and Appropriation Accounts for the year 2016-17 are expected to be laid on the table of the House during the session.
