Police nab Delhi man, accomplice for burglary at AAP office

Delhi police arrested a 58-year-old man, Mohd Qazim, on Sunday for his alleged involvement in a burglary at the Aam Aadmi Party (APP) office at Rouse Avenue in central Delhi.

Qazim stole canopies from the party office on Friday. A scrap dealer, Surtan, was also arrested for buying the canopies sold to him by Qazim.

Complainant had shared CCTV footage with the police related to the burglary and a case was registered on Saturday.

Five to six people were rounded up by police and later Qazim was nabbed from Kamla Market, said police.

This is not the first of case of theft related to Aam Aadmi Party or its leaders.

On 12 October, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s personal car, a Maruti WagonR, was stolen on from outside Delhi Secretariat Gate No 3.

The blue Maruti WagonR car, registered in the name of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), was being used by media coordinator Vandana Singh. The police later found the car abandoned near the Narender Mohan Hospital at Mohan Nagar in Ghaziabad.

In 2016, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s temporary office in east Delhi was burgled and computers, documents were reportedly stolen.
