Patnagarh police on Monday detained two persons in connection with the sensational parcel bomb case that killed software engineer Soumya Sekhar Sahu and his grandmother on the spot and injured Sahu’s wife Reema on 23 February.

The police refused to divulge the name of the two persons detained by them but said they belong to Boudh and Subarnapur districts.

They also suspect it to be case of revenge over a love affair as the deceased Sahu had reportedly received threat calls from unknown persons prior to his marriage. He had been warned against marrying Reema.

Reema was engaged to Sahu and the marriage took place on 18 February, barely a week prior to the ghastly attack. Recently a team of investigating official recorded statement of Reema in presence of a magistrate, Reema is presently undergoing treatment at SCB medical college, Cuttack.

Police has intensifed search to nab the ‘sender’ S K Sharma whose name was on the parcel booked through a courier service based at Raipur. The police had been to Raipur and Bengaluru to try and crack the case.

The courier service at Raipur failed to provide any detail of S K Sharma as it had not secured his PAN/Address or any other detail of the sender while booking the deadly parcel weighing 2 kg. BJP MLA Mr KV Singh Deo has demanded a CBI probe into the case.
