The main accused in the daring daylight robbery of a cash van and the killing of a security guard outside Lucknow’s Raj Bhawan was arrested on Sunday by the Lucknow police.

According to reports, Tiwari, a native of Rae Bareli, was arrested from his rented accommodation with his family in Krishnanagar’s Indrapuri Colony. He is reportedly wanted in a case of murder in 2013 in Rae Bareli.
Tiwari was identified with the help of technical surveillance and CCTV footage. Police recovered a motorcycle and other items believed to have been used by Tiwari in executing the crime from his accomodation.
On 30 July, the security guard of a cash van was shot dead and another was injured when in a robbery outside the residence of the UP Governor in the high-security zone of the city.
Initial reports stated that miscreants fired on the two security guards while they were guarding the cash van outside a bank.
