Newly-elected Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Monday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and apprised him about the issues concerning the Northeastern state.
During the 20-minute meeting, the chief minister briefed the prime minister regarding the financial health of the state and prevailing law and order situation there, official sources said.
The prime minister assured the chief minister of all central help for the all-round development of the state, they said.
This was the first meeting Singh had with Modi after his election as Chief Minister of Manipur.
Singh is heading a BJP-led coalition government in Manipur. This is the first BJP-led government in the northeastern state.
