West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi on Tuesday wished the people of the state on the occasion of Kali Puja and Deepavali.

Banerjee also advised them to be careful so that one person’s celebration does not become painful to another.

“I wish my brothers and sisters in the state on occasion of the Kali puja. I wish this day is illuminated by the light of the festival. But one must be careful that their celebrations do not become a cause of pain for others,” Banerjee said in a tweet.

Kali Puja is celebrated at the chief minister’s Kalighat residence for over 40 years.

“Like every year Kalipjua is being celebrated at my residence. This Pujo is more than 40 years old now,” she wrote on her Twitter handle.

State Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi also wished the people on this occasion.

In a statement released from his official residence Raj Bhawan this afternoon, Tripathi said,

“May this festive occasion illuminate our mind and bring joy and happiness to the people of the state,” he said in a statement.
