Acting tough in a case related to Beti Bachao Beti Padhao programme, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday ordered for suspension of police officers for delay in filing challans against the suspects.
The CM directed to suspend sub-inspector and investigating officer Devender at Police Station Bas in Hisar for not filing challans on time in a case of violation of the Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act and Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTP) Act.
Apart from this, CM Khattar also issued show cause notice to commissioners, Municipal Corporations Gurugram and Faridabad for delay in disposal of complaints received at CM Window.
This was informed by additional principal secretary to CM, Rakesh Gupta while presiding over review meeting with all deputy commissioners, superintendents of police and other senior officers of the districts through video conferencing late on Tuesday evening.
Reviewing the PC-PNDT and MTP Acts, Gupta appreciated the efforts made by districts Sirsa and Sonipat. It was informed that 27 raids were conducted in Sirsa including raids at Uttar Pradesh. He said that districts namely Ambala, Nuh, Bhiwani, Faridabad and Karnal would have to raise the level of their efforts.
He directed the officers of Health Department posted in districts Panchkula, Jind, Palwal, Panipat, Rohtak, Mahendragarh, Jhajjar and Fatehabad to conduct regular raids in their districts under PC-PNDT and MTP Acts and play significant role towards making Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Abhiyan a success.
While reviewing the CM Window, Gupta appreciated the works done by districts Nuh, Karnal, Kurukshetra and Yamunanagar, besides appreciating the improvements made in district Jind and Panipat.
He said that a weekly system should be made for complaints received at CM Window so that these complaints could be disposed of at the earliest. He said that for this, a new team could be constituted at district level.
In a case of misuse of government’s fund in Panipat, Gupta directed the deputy commissioner concerned to investigate the case and if anyone is guilty, FIR should be got registered against him.
Similarly, in case of embezzlement of Rs 20 crore in Sonipat district, he directed the Deputy Commissioner to investigate the matter.
Gupta said that De-addiction Centres are being established in the state. He directed the officers to nab those involved in selling drugs to put a check on this menace.
