Haryana is among the top five states in the country, in implementation of Public Financial Management System (PFMS).
Treasuries in Haryana have been integrated with the PFMS under which the expenditure incurred is directly reported online to Central ministries.
While giving this information on Friday, an official spokesman said that in 2016, State Project Monitor Unit (SPMU) was established in Panchkula and District Project Monitor Units (DPMU) in all districts of the state.
Since the inception of State Project Monitor Units in 2016, in Haryana, 136 schemes of different Departments have been mapped in PFMS portal and 11,000 implementing agencies or child agencies had also been registered.
Till date 32.28 lakh transactions involving an expenditure of Rs 661.37 Crore had been carried out through the PFMS portal, he added.
The spokesman said that PFMS is an online Management Information System developed by Union government to monitor budget expenditure under centrally sponsored, central sector and state schemes.
It is a web-based portal for online transfer and tracking of funds in the entire value chain upto the end user on a real-time basis.
He said that all the departments have been directed to get registered all their implementing agencies including child agencies on PFMS portal and start processing payments through this portal by June 30, 2018.
The PFMS helps the state government in better management of its financial resources and ensure timely transfer of funds to end user. The system also helps in arresting leakages and brings in enhanced transparency in public expenditure.
