Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on launched the second phase of Intensified Pulse Polio Immunisation (IPPI) programme by administering polio drops to the children between 0-5 years of age at Thunag in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, around 180 km from here.
A spokesperson for Health department said 5895 booths have been set up all over the state with targeted children numbering around 6,72,000 including 39,322 children in high-risk areas like slums and migrant colonies.
“As many as 1103 booths have been set up in district Mandi,” he said, adding 81,112 children in the age group of 0-5 years would be covered under IPPI including 818 children in 45 high-risk zones of the district.
He said that 4412 team members had been deputed for carrying out immunization programme.
