Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday termed the victory in the Northeastern states of Tripura and Nagaland as the proof of the party’s growing pan-India acceptability and credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party Chief Amit Shah for the landslide win.
In a joint statement issued here, state party chief Satpal Singh Satti, Union Health and Family Welfare minister JP Nadda and former chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said the win had made it clearly that BJP’s acceptability among masses is increasing across the country.
“This is despite the concerted agenda of Congress and Opposition parties to mislead the voters,” they said, adding the people has reposed faith in BJP to provide them clean and honest governance.
The BJP leaders said the people of the country are reposing faith in the policies of PM led NDA government and had neglected the false propaganda of Opposition parties who tried to divide them on the basis of caste, religion and region.
“Common masses trust BJP’s agenda of inclusive development for all and the party would try to live up to its promise of honest governance to usher in a new era of progress in these states,” they said.
The victory would also energise party cadres and ensure party’s win in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, they said.
