Haryana STF arrests two wanted criminals

The Gurugram Special Task Force (STF) on Wednesday arrested a wanted criminal, who carried a bounty of Rs two lakh on his head, along with his accomplice.

Rajiv alias Boby, 40, was arrested from Rajendra Park area of Gurugram.

Boby was involved in several crimes in Jhajjar district of Haryana including the kidnapping of businessman Aman Jain from Rohtak in 2002 and demanding Rs one crore ransom.

“Boby came out of jail on parole for 43 days in 2010 but did not return. He has sentenced a life term in Jain’s kidnapping,” Satish Balan, Deputy Inspector General STF told IANS.

The other arrested criminal Sumit, a resident of Delhi’s Rasulpur village, was also arrested from Gurugram.

Sumit abducted a girl in Jhajjar in 2004 and murdered her after raping her when he failed to get extortion money for her safe release. He was also awarded a life term for the crime.

“Both were planning to form a new gang. Boby owns two flats in Ghaziabad and Noida and is married to two women,” the officer said, adding the duo will be produced before the court on Thursday.
