A two-day programme in business management department of Fakir Mohan University was of the opinion that university curriculum should be of contemporary subjects and it should produce quality students who can compete with the students in national and international forum.
“The university courses should be as per the need of the time and the students should be exposed to interdisciplinary curriculum studies,” said Sukadev Nanda , the former vice chancellor of FM university and educationist.
The head of the business management department of the university, Bhagban Das said a MoU has been signed between FM University and the ICAI for conducting such events.
A seminar on GST was held. As many as 50 delegates including 38 corporate delegates and 12 universities including eight delegates from outside state attended the event, said Das.
The implementation of GST in India is in a transition phase and has several shortcomings and loopholes. This would consume sometime for everyone to be familiar with the new step towards reformation of tax mechanism of the country.
Former faculty of IIM, Calcutta, Ram Prasad Banerjee, Head of the Institute of cost accountants of India (ICAI) Niranjan Mishra and several other speakers deliberated on GST.
