A fire broke out in a hospital here on Saturday, a fire official said, adding that one patient received minor burn injuries and was shifted to another hospital.

Police said the Delhi Fire Service control room received a call about the fire on the second floor of Metro Hospital at Preet Vihar in east Delhi. As many as 15 fire tenders were rushed to the spot.

The fire was reported around 3.20 p.m. and the patient was shifted to nearby Max hospital.

“The cooling operation is underway after which only we will know the cause but prima facie it looks like a short circuit caused it,” the officer said.
