Reports of some farmers throwing their vegetables and spilling milk on the roads came from a few districts of Madhya Pradesh on the second day of the proposed 10- day nationwide farmers’ agitation on Saturday.
According to reports, more than 50 farmers in Betul spilled milk on the roads. Other than that, some farmers had an altercation with police in village Dhagariya in the district.
Police in the district said they had apprehended four persons in connection with the altercation between farmers and police. SP Duliram Teniwar said the police were interrogating the four persons.
In the Narsinghur district, several farmers threw their vegetables on the road in the Tendukheda area’s vegetable market. The farmers also took out a small procession and raised slogans against the BJP state government.
In Bhopal, people have started feeling the pinch of shortage of vegetables, as the prices of vegetables sore today in comparison to yesterday.
The prices of vegetables are expected to go up even further with each passing day, as the supply of vegetables is getting scantier due to the ongoing agitation and farmers’ strike in adjoining villages.
