The much-anticipated solo exhibition by world renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik, “Nature’s Fury: Sand and Beyond,” opened to an overwhelming response at Galleria VSB, Square One Mall, Saket, New Delhi.
The event was inaugurated by Vandana Bhargava, an internationally acclaimed jewellery designer and Founder and Chairperson of House of VSB, and this is going to run until March 21, an official statement said.
Pattnaik, known globally for his sand sculptures, has expanded his artistic expression through mixed-media paintings, offering a striking fusion of sand and color, while his works vividly depict climate change, deforestation, and endangered ecosystems.
This thought-provoking exhibition delves into the delicate balance between nature’s beauty and its fury.
In her opening remarks, Bhargava emphasized the critical role of art in raising awareness about environmental issues, and said, “Art has the power to spark conversations and inspire change.This exhibition is a reminder of our collective responsibility to protect our planet,” she added.
For over two decades, Bhargava has been a beacon in the fine arts and signature jewels, curating exceptional experiences that transcend the ordinary.
The opening day witnessed an esteemed gathering of artists, critics, and dignitaries, including Padma Bhushan awardee Jatin Das, NGMA Director General Dr. Sanjeev Kishore Gautam, Padma Shri awardee and President of Hockey India Dilip Tirkey.
Prominent artists such as Asit Patnaik, Sanjay Sharma, Ashok Bhandari, and Tapan Das, along with celebrated authors and art critics, engaged in enriching discussions on the intersection of art and environmental consciousness.
With few days remaining, visitors are encouraged to experience Nature’s Fury: Sand and Beyond before it concludes on March 21st.
Art enthusiasts and collectors seemed quite eager to procure these rare works by Pattnaik.
