The Supreme Court will on Friday hear TTV Dhinakaran’s plea seeking more time to file documents before the Election Commission (EC) which is hearing the “Two Leaves” party symbol dispute.
According to reports, the matter will be heard at 2 pm– days after the Dinakaran faction of the AIADMK petitioned the EC seeking cross examination of some of the rival faction leaders before it begins final hearing in the matter.
The rival AIADMK faction headed by Edappadi Palaniswamy and O Panneerselvam submitted truckloads of documents to support their claim for the symbol which has been frozen in the wake of the split in the party after the death of former Chief Minister and party chief J Jayalalithaa.
Dinakaran also filed documents on Friday after the Commission rejected its plea for giving 15 days more time for filing documents.
The EC will be hearing the dispute citing the urgency in the matter after the Madurai bench of the Madras High Court had directed the Commission to sort out the matter before 31 Oct.
