Delhi Chief Minister intensified his attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the wake of the Supreme Court overturning of the result of recent Chandigarh mayoral election saying the entire episode has exposed the saffron party.
Recounting in the Delhi Assembly on Wednesday how the apex court, through its ruling on the matter, sent out a strong message in favour of democracy on Tuesday, the chief minister said it seemed as though the God was present inside the chief justice. “It seemed as though the God was speaking through the CJI,” he said hailing the top court for declaring AAP-Congress alliance candidate Kuldeep Kumar as the new mayor of Chandigarh.
Quoting the Bhagavad Gita, the AAP leader said God decided to intervene in the matter and put an end to the what he called as ‘adharm’ (injustice) being done in the entire matter.
He stressed the need for all to come together to preserve democracy and the autonomy of the constitutional institutions.
The chief minister alleged that black money to the tune of crores of rupees was being used to poach legislators to topple elected governments in the country.
The AAP convener criticised the Centre’s handling of the farmers’ issue in the wake of the ongoing farmers’ protest. He asked why the government was not allowing the farmers to come to Delhi and voice their concerns. “If the farmers want to come to Delhi, let them come to Delhi, what is wrong in that? They just want to raise their voice as everyone has a right to voice his concerns as per the constitution,” Kejriwal added.
