NDMC issues guidelines for dignified disposal of Ram Dhwaj & National Flag

The New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) on Wednesday issued guidelines for proper disposal of Ram Dhwaj and National Flag with dignity as per the protocol.

The guidelines have been issued in the wake of Pran Pratishtha Ceremony of Ram Temple at Ayodhaya and the upcoming Republic Day when resident welfare associations (RWAs), traders associations (MTA), and other Institutions and individuals use the flags.

The civic body said it had made special arrangements for the disposal of Ram Dhwaj and National Flag in its area by issuing a centralised number and app to lodge requests for deposition of both the flags. Citizens are welcome to call the centralised number 1533 or log in to the NDMC 311 App and register a request for the collection of flags.

The civic body has also directed its sanitation staff to ensure that proper protocol is followed while collecting and disposing off the National Flag as per the “Flag Code”.

Similarly, for Ram Dhwaj, the sanitation staff has been directed to ensure proper procedure for collection and disposal.

The civic body said the flags placed and used by the people on the day of Pran Pratishtha in the NDMC area need to be properly taken off, including those flags that were damaged and scattered on the roadsides.
