NDMC Chairman Amit Yadav stresses on sports activities for students


New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) Chairman Amit Yadav on Tuesday stressed upon the need of sports activities for students in their daily routine life along with academic curriculum.

Yadav gave away prizes to the winners of the Annual Sports Meet-2024 for all 43 NDMC Schools in a function held at the Talkatora Cricket Ground in the city, in the presence of Secretary of NDMC Krishna Mohan Uppu on Tuesday.

He distributed 300 medals to the winning students and 60 trophies to the schools expressing his appreciation for the dedicated NDMC Education Team.

In his address, Chairman Yadav said: “To make healthy and intelligent students not only study but also sports has a vital role in their life. Sports give them more capabilities to take any task and be able to face any challenges and odds in their life.”

He said for this purpose sports and games help to inculcate and develop a sense of responsibility, discipline and optimism amongst students and it is also a synonym of team spirit, which always boosts the morale for any challenge.

The Chairman also emphasized the NDMC’s unwavering commitment to providing top-notch sports facilities and hiring coaches across various games.

He underscored the dedication to nurturing the talents of each student, ensuring they shine in their respective fields of specialization and able to participate in state , regional and national level tournaments.

NDMC Annual Schools’ Sports Meet 2024, starting from February 06, not only celebrated sportsmanship but also highlighted the rich cultural diversity within the NDMC school community. It served as a platform to unite students in the spirit of healthy competition, fostering an environment that encourages both athletic and cultural excellence.
