Krishna Mohan Uppu, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 2009 batch of AGMUT cadre, has assumed charge as secretary of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), the civic body said on Friday.
Uppu succeeded Ankita Chakravarty, who has been transferred to Ministry of Union Home Affairs (MHA) as Deputy Secretary.
Earlier, Uppu served as deputy secretary of the MHA; special secretary of the Department of Skills and Entrepreneurship, Mizoram government; additional CEO (Election) of Mizoram; OSD to MoS (IC), Department of North Eastern Region and OSD to Union minister of science and technology; deputy commissioner of Andaman & Nicobar Island, special secretary, Department of Home, Arunachal Pradesh government; and deputy commissioner of the Delhi government.
He completed his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical from the Andhra University before joining the civil services.
