Goods train derails in Delhi; no casualty

In an unfortunate incident, eight wagons of a goods train derailed and overturned here on Saturday. The incident occurred near the Zakhira flyover.

“Today on 17th February, an information was received at 1152 hours regarding the derailment of a train near Zakhira flyover,” a senior police official said.

The official said at the spot it was found that a goods train derailed and wagons had turned down. Iron sheet rolls were loaded in the goods train.

According to an official of the Northern Railway, eight wagons of a goods train with steel consignment derailed on the Patel Nagar- Dayabasti section at 1124 hours.

No causality or injury was reported.

Notably, the goods train derailment comes days after a fire broke out at an empty coach of a passenger train at the Patel Nagar railway station on 13th February. Out of three coaches of the Sirsa Express train in standing position at the Patel Nagar railway station, the blaze was in only one coach.

No injury was reported in that incident.
