An under-graduate student of the Delhi University (DU) is forced to live under mental trauma for several days, as someone, after creating a fake account on social media in her name, posted obscene photos and videos.
A complaint in this regard has been registered with the Amar Colony Police Station, which was later transferred to the Cyber Police Station of the Southeast District. It is being alleged that no action in the matter is being taken by the police.
It is also being claimed that since no FIR was lodged in the matter on the complaint, the accused gained more courage and created another fake account in her name on Facebook.
According to the sources, the 27-year-old victim, who graduated from the DU, lives with her family at East of Kailash, Southeast Delhi. Recently, she came to know that someone has created fake accounts in her name on Facebook and Instagram and has posted obscene photos on them.
Her family and friends also got to know about these social media accounts, because of which, she had to face embarrassment and defamation in her family and society. As she came to know about the accounts, she made a complaint on November 15 at Amar Colony police station.
Later, when she inquired about her complaint, she was informed that her complaint had been transferred to the cyber police of the district. When she asked about the action taken on her complaint, she was told the matter is being probed.
It is being alleged that due to the inaction by the police, the accused created another fake account in her name and started sending pornographic material but the police is not taking any action in the case.
