With the presence of north-northwesterly winds up to speed of 7.4 km per hour, maximum temperature in the city settled two points below the season’s normal on Monday.
As compared to Sunday’s partly cloudy weather conditions, the city witnessed a mainly clear sky on Monday with the mercury pegging at 20.3 degrees Celsius.
During the early morning hours, minimum temperature settled at 12.4 degrees Celsius, which was three points above the season’s average, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).
Slowly the temperature seemed to be improving, with slightly less colder mornings as compared to a week ago, while the fog has also reduced.
The weather agency has forecast a mainly clear sky for Tuesday, with shallow to moderate fog in during the morning hours, while the maximum and minimum temperatures to be around 20 and 9 degrees Celsius.
The relative humidity during the past 24 hours pegged between 98- 61 per cent , the weatherman said .
On the other hand, the speed of wind is likely to increase a little on Tuesday and be up to 12 km per hour, the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorological (IITM) said.
Meanwhile, as a respite for the residents of the city, the meteorological conditions have likely improved the average air quality in the city, which on Monday was recorded in the ‘moderate’ zone.
According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the average Air Quality Index (AQI) of Delhi measured at 180.
