In an initiative keeping in view safety and awareness of children, especially small girls, a team of women police personnel in North East Delhi on Saturday sensitized children making them aware about ‘good touch’ and ‘bad touch.’
According to DCP North East, under the ‘Naazuk’ scheme of Delhi Police the Nirbheek team comprising of women police personnel visited a government school in the Jyoti Nagar area of North East Delhi where a total of 48 students were sensitized about the good and bad touch, while the police also made them comfortable about talking about such problems to their elders and report about a mishap.
The kids were motivated by the police to be vocal about incidents where they could be made uncomfortable by some person, and immediately report about the same to their guardians, teachers and not be scared to reveal about any mishap.
The children of the school interacted with the women police, while the teachers were also present.
North East district police from time to time runs several initiatives aimed for the safety of the people, especially keeping in view safety of women and children.
Delhi police also has a special unit who’s aim is to safeguard the rights of women and children in the capital, which is the Special Police Unit for Women and Children (SPUWAC).
