DDA demolishes farmhouse worth Rs 400 cr


Continuing with its exercise to reclaim government land over which unauthorised occupation and illegal construction has been done, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has demolished a farmhouse spread over 10 acres in Chhatarpur here.

“The DDA yesterday demolished the farmhouse of high profile liquor baron, late Ponty Chaddha alias Gurdeep Singh, spread over 10 acres in Chhatarpur, South Delhi, worth about 400 crore,” an official statement said on Saturday.

The demolition exercise which is still continuing claimed five acres of land yesterday and the demolition of the main building over the remaining land of the farmhouse is going on, it said.

An earlier demolition programme in north east Delhi to reclaim government land, carried out between 13th to 17th January, at Gokulpuri, unauthorised encroachments that included commercial showrooms, were demolished, over four acres of land, it added.
