Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has approved the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the first three corridors of Phase 4 project of Delhi Metro between the city government, DMRC and Union government, official sources said on Monday evening.
There will be speed in the construction of Janakpuri West-R K Ashram Marg corridor, Delhi Aerocity to Tughlakabad corridor, Majlis Park to Maujpur corridor, the sources said.
Thanks to the MoU, all the obstacles in the path of this corridor will be completely removed. There will be 45 stations on all these corridors of 65.20 kilometers.
“The Kejriwal government is also trying to get approval for three other corridors pending with the central government under Phase 4 as soon as possible. This includes Rithala, Bawana, Narela and Kundli Corridor, Inderlok, Indraprastha Corridor and Lajpat Nagar and Saket G Block Corridor. It has 47 kilometers and will have 39 stations,” they said.
“The MOU was stuck for many years. CM Arvind Kejriwal made personal efforts to clear the way for the MoU,” the sources added.
