80 plus technologies showcased at ‘Industry Day’ of IIT-Delhi

The IIT-Delhi showcased over 80 plus technologies developed by its researchers at the 4th edition of its flagship event called ‘Industry Day’ which was inaugurated on Saturday.

The event focussed on future-ready solutions in the field of healthcare technologies, electric vehicle research, communications and sustainable clean energy and environment.

Prof Rangan Banerjee, Director, IIT-Delhi, said: “Industry can benefit in multiple ways when it partners with premier technology institutions like IIT-Delhi. Industry gets access to world class research facilities, access to a vibrant research ecosystem of IIT-Delhi, access to global research and innovations, an opportunity to look at the problems from a new perspective and find path-breaking solutions.”

“On the other hand, Industry leaders can have a role in shaping the future generations when they engage with academia. The short term and long-term problems of industry can be solved with different perspectives by interfacing with students and researchers. To make India self-reliant, our industries need to be globally competitive and we are committed to working with industry so that we can make a difference through our research and knowledge,” he added.

The IIT-Delhi is engaging industry through centres of excellence in specified areas of research like oil technology, smart technology enabled manufacturing, waste to wealth, sustainable infrastructure, climate change and air pollution, energy and environment, 5G and artificial intelligence (AI).

The annual event saw a display of the best of IIT Delhi’s collaborative and interdisciplinary sharing through the breadth of the research that was presented. Over 80 cutting-edge technologies developed by IIT-Delhi researchers were showcased as product demonstrations at the Industry Day event. 130 plus industry-relevant concept posters created by the students of IIT-Delhi were also on display.
