19-year-old boy stabbed to death in Delhi, friend escapes with injuries

A 19-year-old boy was stabbed to death while his friend sustained escaped with abdominal injuries in a knife attack by four people following an altercation in North East Delhi, the police said on Thursday.

The incident took place on the intervening night of Wednesday-Thursday at around 1.37 am near an open gym at the DDA Park in front of JPC Hospital.

The police received the information about the incident from the JPC Hospital. One of the victims, Mayank Choudhari, was declared dead with multiple stab wounds in his chest while the other, Love Kush, sustained injuries around the abdominal area.

The accused have been identified as Kunal, Aman, Shivam and another boy whose identity is yet to be ascertained.

Love Kush told the police that he and Mayank were standing near an open gym in the DDA Park when Aman, Shubham, and two others started arguing with them. As the heated exchange intensified Aman and Shubham attacked them with knives resulting in the death of Mayank.

It has also come out that the two groups had an altercation on two more occasions six months ago, the police said.

Meanwhile, it was found that the deceased, Mayank, was a resident of Kaithwara, Chaudhary Chandra Gali, First Pusta Usman Pur.

A case under sections 302/307/34 IPC has been registered at Police Station New Usmanpur in this connection and efforts were underway to apprehend the accused persons, the police said.

Further probe is on in the case, police added.
