With the arrest of five sharpshooters of the infamous Kala Jathedi- Lawrence Bishnoi syndicate on Sunday, the Delhi Police’s Special Cell claimed to have foiling a high-profile murder.
Advanced international weapons were recovered from their possession of the accused including Px- 30, an Italian make and .32 bore pistols.
One of the five arrested accused was looking to avenge a brutal attack on him in Rohtak Jail and had planned to kill a rival gang member with the help of new members he recruited to his gang.
On March 7, an input was received by a team of the Cell, according to which, members of Kala Jathedi-Lawrence Bishnoi syndicate would come near DDA Park, Sector 16, Dwarka with illegal weapons in their possession.
Following the directions from senior officers, a team was dispatched for the operation and laid a trap near the area. As per Intel, they executed a tactical operation, and apprehended the five accused identified as Rahul alias Baba, Parveen alias Dada, Rohtash, Mohan and Sachin.
One highly-sophisticated weapon, Px 30 pistol of Chinese origin, one P- Berreta pistol along with two more hand guns were recovered from the accused.
During interrogation, one of them disclosed that he ran wine shops in partnership with Kala Jathedi – Anil Chippi group. He had picked up a financial dispute with one, Ajay, who was backed by a criminal associated with gangster Himanshu Bhai.
Last year, Rahul opened fire outside the residence of Ajay and was later arrested by Haryana police for the act. While in jail, he was allegedly attacked and stabbed multiple times by inmates associated with Aman.
After release from jail, Rahul alias Baba planned to kill Aman and recruited Rohtash, Mohan and Sachin to his gang for the purpose. According to the police, they were provided with highly-sophisticated pistols by jailed gangsters Sandeep alias Kala Jathedi and Anil alias Chippi, whose roles are being verified, the police added.
Most of the arrested accused have previous criminal record. They are being interrogated for their involvements in other cases and efforts are being made to arrest their associates and fire-arms sources, while further investigation is in progress, a senior police official added.
