The India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) presented the Awards for Excellence in Display to the participants to mark the end of the 5- days event.
President of the Federation of Indian Publishers (FIP), Rajesh Mittal and General Managers namely SR Sahoo, Hema Maity, Vikash Kumar Singh were prominent among those who attended in the event held at the initiatives of the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO)
The Awards were mainly presented in different categories comprising Government Sector and Private Sector. In the Government category, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, bagged the Gold trophy while the National Council of Educational Research and Training won Silver.
The Sahitya Akademi won the Bronze trophy while the Indira Gandhi National Open University, and the Urdu Akademi was honoured with special appreciation.
In Private category, the Rupa Publications won the gold, the Prints Publicatons won the silver and APC Books Bronze trophies. The Kohli Book Distributors received the Special Appreciation. The awards were also given away for the excellence in the display in the Office Automation Fair.
The Doms Industries Pvt. Ltd., the Filex Systems Pvt. Ltd. and Hobby Craft were honoured with the Gold, Silver and Bronze trophies respectively. The Venus File Products was excellence in display.
Complimenting the award winners in her key note address, ITPO General Manager Hema Maity said that although the fair was organized later but was a great success. She also assured that after seeing the great response from the visitors, next year the fair might be organized on a larger scale.
FIP president, Rajesh Mittal, also complimented ITPO for holding the show with a successful note. The fair had good media coverage and lots of visitors especially students came to the fair to enjoy reading and buying books.
He also suggested the theme for the next event as “G-20” so that the books of those countries associated with G-20 could be displayed in the theme area. Further, he mentioned that the FIP has been associated with the ITPO from the last 28 years and will celebrate its 50 th anniversary of its inception in 2023.
Additionally, it was suggested by Mittal that this event may be held under the CSIR activity of ITPO, so that the stalls could be allotted at a subsidized prices to increase the participation. It ended with the vote of thanks by Vikash Kumar Singh.
