Cong to carry out ‘path yatra’ in reply to BJP’s ‘parivartan yatra’

Eyeing to script Mission Repeat – 2017, Congress party will be holding path yatra (road show) from July 18 in reply to BJP’s parivartan yatra in Himachal Pradesh in the run up to assembly polls slated later this year. The Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) on Tuesday held a meeting to draw a blue print for the election strategy.

The meeting was chaired by the HPCC chief Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu that unanimously decided to hold the path yatra across the state, spanning over a month to be held in three phases reaching out to the district, booth level.

The party is contemplating to invite All India Congress Committee vice president Rahul Gandhi to conclude the Path Yatra.

The first phase will be held from July 18 to July 24, second August 1 to August 7 and third from August 15 to August 21.

Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu talking about the Path yatra to counter BJP’s parivartan rally said, “This is an exercise to gear up for assembly polls slated this year. All the leaders will cover almost all the district, block and panchayats on foot. The committee has finalised the schedule for the Path Yatra that will commence on July 18 and will conclude on August 20.”

The Congress leaders and the party workers during the foot march will take to the masses the achievements of the Congress government and also the failures of the Narendra Modi lead government at the Centre. During the meeting Sukhwinder also took feedback from the party worker.
