Kotkhai Nayay Manch has raised doubts on the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) over the arrest of an accused in the ‘Kotkhai’ gang rape and murder case.

The Kotkhai Nayay Manch co-ordinator Vijender Mehra on Wednesday charged that the arrest of the accused a wood sawyer is hard to digest and the public is not ready to believe the theory of the CBI.

“It is hard to believe that an ordinary wood sawyer had been hoodwinking the Himachal Pradesh Police and the CBI since the last almost ten months,” he said.

Right from the start the functioning of the HP Police and the CBI had already come under scanner and had been placed under the siege of suspicion in the eyes of the public, he charged.

He cautioned the CBI to fulfil its duty honesty and not to follow the footsteps of the HP Police.

“The GNM, a justice forum still believe in the involvement of influential people in the said case,” he said and urged the CBI to take a serious look into the matter so that the real culprits are arrested and Kotkhai and her family members get justice.

He urged the CBI to take the Kotkhai case with seriousness so that the real culprits get punished and justice be done to Kotkhai and her family.

Vijender Mehra demanded that the letter written by a policeman from Kanda Jail to the Governor and state government should also be brought under the preview of investigation.

The Nayay Manch has demanded that the visit of the then DSP who was part of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to Kotkhai police station along with
three policemen from Theog and Matiyana on the day when Suraj died in Police custody should also be brought under investigation. “These incidents should be linked together to get to the bottom of the case,” they
demanded.
