Part of a house and a boundary wall were partially damaged in a blast here on Sunday night but no one was injured, police said on Monday.

Police said that the windscreen of a car was also smashed due to the blast at Naga Mapal. No organisation has claimed the attack.

Police have registered a case and are investigating the motive behind the blast. No arrest has been made yet.

Also, no headway has been made in the killing of Lal Babu from Bihar, a fermented fish trader, who was abducted from his house and brought to the Manipur University — passing through high security areas — where he was shot dead.

Meanwhile, the state government has been organising “Imphal evening” not very far from Naga Mapal.

Chief minister N. Biren Singh said: “Imphal evening is organised on Saturdays and Sundays till 10 p.m. in view of the improved law and order situation.”

“People will get a chance to stay out at the weekends. We hope that other trading centres will start opening at night also.”
