BJP’s women leaders and Lok Sabha election candidates from the national capital, Kamaljeet Sehrawat and Bansuri Swaraj on Monday strongly condemned the alleged mistreatment meted out to AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal at CM’s residence, as shameful and unfortunate.

Addressing a press conference at the Delhi BJP office, Swaraj raised a question, asking Delhi CM as to how he would protect the women of the national capital if their party MP was not safe in his presence.

She further said that this calls for answerability from the CM, and further reminded that earlier too, a similar incident of alleged physical assault with a Chief Secretary in the city had come up, and further claimed that a case also filed regarding the same.

Bansuri Swaraj further questioned, as to whether such alleged behavior was correct when someone was saying something in presence of CM and faced such behavior.

“The Bharatiya Janata Party demands an answer regarding this from CM Arvind Kejriwal,” Swaraj said.

The BJP leader further alleged that it has become a tradition of Kejriwal that whenever there are anti- women activities by his party, he remains silent.

Meanwhile, Union Minister Anurag Thakur taking a dig at the AAP and its chief Arvind Kejriwal over the alleged incident, wrote on platform X, “From the Aam Aadmi Party to the

Arvind Advertisement Party, and now the Arvind Assault Party, there seems to be no depth to which this party and its convener, Arvind Kejriwal, will not sink.

Launching a scathing attack on Kejriwal over the news about the alleged incident, Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva demanded that, whatever happened with Maliwal should be investigated, so that this side of Kejriwal can be exposed to everyone.

“A thorough investigation into the entire incident be conducted and the truth be brought to light so that Kejriwal’s misogynistic face can be exposed to the people of Delhi,” Sachdeva said.

Sachdeva claimed that this is not the first incident of its kind related to a colleague of Kejriwal, and alleged that many prominent women who were associated with his N.G.O earlier, have left due to his alleged anti-women politics, Delhi BJP chief added.
