On completion of first anniversary of demonetisation,  political parties have geared up to mark the day in different ways. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will observe the day as ‘Anti Black Money Day’ with all its district units planning anti-black money awareness march.

Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari said that all MPs, MLAs and senior leaders will join the ‘anti-black money awareness’ march in their respective areas. Tiwari said he would lead lead a march from Meridian Hotel on Raisina Road to Central Park, Connaught Place.

However, Delhi Congress will, in stark contrast,  form a ‘human wall’ on Wednesday at Connaught Place inner circle on both sides of the road to mark the first anniversary of the demonetisation by the Modi Government as “black day”.

Indian Youth Congress (IYC) will also observe the day as ‘black day’ jointly with Mahila Congress and NSUI. All frontal organisations of the Congress party will jointly protest ‘Notebandi- Ek Sanghathit Loot’ and their members have been advised to wear black aprons and black ribbons at a protest venue in Jantar Mantar.

“Demonetisation is the biggest blunder of BJP government and was instrumental in breaking the backbone of Indian economy and casue that rendered thousands of people jobless,” said IYC spokesperson.

The party will also stage skit on Narendra Modi and persons who lost their lives standing in queues at banks and ATMs.

Meanwhile,, Aam Admi Party (AAP) plans to observe ‘Dhoka Diwas’ on Wednesday at Thyagraj Stadium. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Tuesday: “A situation of job scarcity has arisen as economy is in a sad state and recession has taken place. Everybody is saying that the two reasons behind this are demonetisation and GST in the last two years.”
