Biranchi Das stepped into his new role as Director (Personnel) at South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), the largest coal producing company of India, on Thursday.
An alumnus of the PMIR Department in Utkal University, Das embarked on his career journey as a Welfare Officer (Tr) at Deulbera Colliery, Talcher Area, Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) in 1994. With over 29 years of service in various managerial capacities within the HR discipline, Das has left an indelible mark on the industry.
His contributions are evident in his pivotal role in formulating House Allotment Committee Rules for Non-Executives in MCL and drafting Certified Standing Orders for the organization. Notably, during his tenure at the IR Department at MCL HQ, Das played a crucial role in fostering healthy industrial relations at the corporate level.
Das’s appointment comes after the retirement of the previous Director (Personnel), following which CMD SECL Dr Prem Sagar Mishra took on the additional charge.
