Odisha’s Special Task Force of the Crime Branch unearthed a notorious racket of counterfeit currency notes intercepting over notes worth Rs 1.90 lakh near the Rathapada village under the Dhenkanal Sadar Police Station on Saturday.
The STF, further, nabbed the mastermind of the racket, Tushar Kumar Biswal (31) who is a native of the Deogarh district.
The accused was computer savvy youth and fake currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 100 denominations were seized from his possession.
They were allegedly circulating the fake notes, mostly, in the rural areas.
“We are looking into all possible angles to ascertain the accused persons’ possible link with subversive and anti-national elements”, said an officer of STF.
