Chief Minister Atishi has once again written to the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar on Wednesday, seeking urgent appointment with regard to the upcoming legislative assembly elections.

In her communication to the CEC, she mentioned that she had earlier written to him seeking an appointment on January 5, in a bid to highlight the issue of alleged large scale voter deletions and additions in the New Delhi assembly constituency.

Atishi mentioned that she wanted to apprise him of the issue, however, in response to her previous letter dated January 5, her office received a correspondence (attached) from Deputy Chief Electoral Officer, Delhi stating that the office is ascertaining the facts mentioned in her communication. She has asked as to why the CEC has not given her time, and also said that only 27 days were left for the polls.

The CM had mentioned that the matter should be considered at the highest priority, as Delhi is the only state going to polls during this time, and the entire country and its media will closely follow the elections and its processes. Atishi further mentioned that everyone places trust in the poll panel to uphold the principles of free and fair elections.
