Actor Ajaz Khan appears to have landed in a soup following a tweet he posted tagging the Mumbai Police.
Khan, who is known for his brief stint at the Bigg Boss 7 house, had on 11 February posted a photo showing him greeting some police officers at an event.
“Many congratulations to BMC and @MumbaiPolice for such an amazing job with ‘creation of flowers’ and thank you so much for inviting me as chief guest at this event, I feel honoured,” wrote Khan on his official Twitter handle.

The post irked some Twitter users, who began criticising the Mumbai Police for inviting Khan, who they alleged was a “serial offender”.

As the matter turned into a controversy, the Mumbai Police posted a tweet in response to Khan’s informing that they were not present at the event.
“We appreciate your gratitude for the efforts of @MumbaiPolice for the wellbeing of the city, but misplaced gratitude barely serves any purpose. Kindly recollect correctly who were you invited by and where, because we were not there,” wrote Mumbai Police.

Though Twitteratti praised Mumbai Police’s response they also demanded action against Khan.

In 2016, a report in The Times of India had stated that Khan had been charged by the police for allegedly sending an offensive picture to a woman. Khan had then refuted the allegations claiming that he was being targeted because of his celebrity status.
