AISECT has joined hands with the Maulana Azad National Academy for Skills (MANAS) for implementing Entrepreneurship and Skills Development Programme (E&SDP) to train unemployed youth from the minority community in Odisha.

“The initial phase of the training commenced in Balasore with a batch of 30 students and next month two more centres will be taken up at Bhubaneswar and Rayagada,” said a release issued by AISECT.

AISECT will skill 250 candidates for the profile of Handset Repair Technician and 250 candidates for the role of Telecom Tower Technician; with each candidate undergoing approximately 340 hours of training.

The training will be free of cost for all the candidates. Each candidate undergoing training will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 1,500 for 3 months during the course of training and Rs 2,000 every month for 2 months after the completion of training.

Mr Siddharth Chaturvedi (Director, AISECT) said “Minority education has always been one of the major concerns in our country. The Entrepreneurship and Skills Development Programme by Maulana Azad National Academy for Skills is a laudable step in this direction”.

AISECT will also be responsible for job placement or self-employment for at least 70 per cent of the total number of trainees.
