AIMIM fields Shafa ur Rehman from Okhla after Tahir Hussain

Ahead of the scheduled Delhi assembly elections on February 5, the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) has fielded Shafa ur Rehman khan from Okhla assembly constituency.

Khan is the second candidate of the Asaduddin Owaisi-led party after it had fielded former AAP councillor and accused in the North East Delhi riots Tahir Hussain from Mustafabad assembly segment.

Posting on X, the party said, “An appeal is made to all the voters of the Okhla Assembly constituency to make Shafa ur Rehman Khan victorious with the largest number of votes by pressing the button on the kite symbol on February 5.”

According to information, Rehman Khan was also active during the CAA protests in Jamia and Shaheen Bagh. He is currently lodged in jail.

AAP has fielded incumbent MLA Amanatullah Khan as its candidate from Okhla while the Congress and the BJP are yet to announce their nominee from the seat.

Voting for the assembly elections in the National capital will be held on February 5 while the counting will take place on February 8.
