Education and Parliamentary Affairs minister Suresh Bhardwaj on Monday called upon the Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) authorities to work hard and get a better grade in future.
Speaking on the occasion of 49th Foundation Day Function of HPU, he emphasized on value-based education and said the government institutions have been providing quality education in every nook and corner of the state as compared to the private institutions.
“There is an urgent need to strengthen the Alumni Association and it should be extended to the maximum and include every old student in the association,” he said.
Bhardwaj said the autonomy of the University remains as priority for the government and more autonomous colleges are required in the state.
He directed the University authorities to speed up the work for Internet connectivity and the Wi-Fi facility so that students could avail it in every nook and corner of the varsity.
“More funds would be provided to the University under RUSA but the University has to first utilize the funds earlier provided to it,” he said.
