AAP, BJP playing with emotions of Jat community:Yadav

DPCC President Devender Yadav

Delhi Congress president Devender Yadav on Thursday accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and BJP of playing with the emotions of the Jat community ahead of the forthcoming Assembly elections.

Reacting to a tussle between the two parties over the Jat’s reservation issue, he said, “With the Delhi Assembly elections just 26 days away, the Kejriwal and Modi governments are playing with the emotions of the Jat community, which is very shameful.”

He claimed that the previous Congress government at the Centre had provided reservation to the Jat community in the Central list in nine states of the country, including Delhi on March 4, 2014.

The Delhi Congress chief said “apart from Delhi, Bihar, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand were the other states with Jat reservation.”

“The Supreme Court, however, rejected it in its order of March 17, 2015 because the Modi government at the Centre did not advocate the case strongly in the Supreme Court, nor did Kejriwal raise his voice vocally at that time,” he added.
