AAP believes in progress, BJP stamping out Opp: Kejriwal

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday said that the AAP government in the national capital is committed to working on the model of development. He criticised the ruling dispensation at the Centre, alleging an entirely opposite approach and accusing the saffron party of toppling governments.

Addressing the Delhi Assembly during the budget session on Saturday, Kejriwal alleged that the BJP claims of winning 370 seats, and, as such, does not require the support of the 140 crore people of the country.

Kejriwal went on to allege that the BJP uses funds from electoral bonds to topple governments by buying MLAs.

He also claimed that the BJP wants to crush AAP since it recognises its rapid growth as a potential challenge in the future across the country.

“The AAP is the fastest-growing party. They have already put Manish Sisodia Ji, Satyendar Jain Ji, and Sanjay Singh Ji behind bars. Now they are plotting to imprison me. Their plan is underway. I have spoken to my friends in the BJP. Good people are also in that party, not everyone is bad. The BJP people informed me that their plan entails first putting me in jail and then toppling the AAP government,” Kejriwal claimed.

Criticising the BJP, the AAP chief further alleged that the BJP plans to use the ED and the CBI to eliminate the opposition and stop their good work.

“The more summons they issue to me, the more schools I will build. I have received 8 summons from the ED so far and I intend to build 8 new schools,” Kejriwal said.

He also thanked Delhi Finance Minister Atishi for including all segments of society and catering to all sectors amid the ongoing budget session of the Delhi Assembly.

While addressing the legislators, Kejriwal momentarily remembered former minister Manish Sisodia, who had presented the earlier budgets of the AAP government in Delhi.

Kejriwal further said that the Aam Aadmi Party, which initially did not have any power, has with the passage of time improved the condition of schools and hospitals in the city. The party is committed to providing a better future to children, he added.
