Four killed, including two children and four others were injured, when a Maruti Alto carrying eight passengers met with an accident at Kayana near Banuti in the periphery of Shimla on Wednesday.
The incident occurred when a Maruti car HP 63-6116 carrying 8 passengers including three children fell down the deep gorge. The injured were immediately rushed to Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMCH).
Shimla Superintendent of Police, Omapati Jamwal confirming the accident said that four people, including the driver of the car was killed in the accident, while the four seriously injured have been admitted to the IGMC hospital for treatment.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur expressing grief over death of four persons, prayed to the Almighty for peace of the departed souls and speedy recovery of the injured.
The Shimla district administration has provided immediate relief of Rs 10,000 each to the relatives of deceased and Rs 5,000 to those
injured.
