2 dead, 6 injured after mud from under construction building slides in Delhi


 An under-construction building collapsed in Sanjay Colony, Okhla Industrial area Phase 2 on Thursday.

The foundation of the building was being dug when it collapsed trapping the labourers working below it.
Delhi Fire Service Department sent three cars to tend to the rescue of those trapped.
The Deputy Commisioner of Police, Rajesh Deo informed that the location of the incident was an industrial plot in which construction activity was being done and a basement was being constructed. In the process, an excavation about 20 feet deep had been done. In the evening the earth from the rear side of the plot slid.”
He further informed that eight persons got injured and were shifted to AIIMS Trauma Centre, where, two of them were declared brought dead. He stated that three people have been critically injured and are under treatment in the Red zone at the hospital. Three have received minor injuries.
A Delhi Fire Service department official informed that they received a call about the incident at around 4:56 pm. The rescue efforts continued for an hour.

Police informed that the documents of the building including construction permission is being verified and further investigation is underway.
